Over the weekend I had the pleasure of pup-sitting Zilla!  If you've been following my posts, you likely recall Zilla (pictured above in Febrary 2011) when she was a wee pup.  Although I'm a die hard cat lover to the end, she won me over with her silly little antics and seeming endless cuteness.  Well, here is Zilla now:

They grow up so fast....... *sigh* ......   A whole lot bigger but nonetheless adorable, it was only a matter of time before I cooked up something especially for her!  As luck would have it, I stumbled upon a doggie biscuit recipe in my Peanut Butter & Co Cookbook.
Yummies!!

Zilla was on her best behavior throughout my pup-sitting (only reeking havoc after I left :-b  of course) and thus was rewarded with yummies galore!!  Fortunately the recipe was a hit cause it makes a whole lotta biscuits (approx 2 dozen).

Enjoy!

2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup yelllow cornmeal
1 cup peanut butter
2 Tbs honey
1 large egg
2 Tbs peanut (or canola) oil

Preheat oven 350F.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, oats, and cornmeal.  Set aside.  In a large bowl, combine the lpeanut butter, honey, egg, and peanut oil with 1 cup of water and mix until well incorporated.  Slowly add the dry ingriedents, stirring until thoroughly mixed.

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, then roll it out to a 1/4" thickness.  With a bone shaped cutter, cut out biscuits and transfer to a parchment lined cookie sheet.  Bake 30 - 40 minutes or until golden brown.  Cool before serving to doggie friend.
